Process

It was one of the most advanced rig animations that I ever worked during my time at Qreal - Glimpse Group. We collaborated with Jordan to promote their J11 Cherry Red model. My task was to animate the shoe the way the client want and prepare the lens flow.

Firstly, I had to build a proper rig system for the shoe in order to play with the shape as easily as possible. As the rigging wasn’t even enough, I also used shape keys to modify the shape in the animation. Other step was to indicate the shoe material as realistically as possible in the lens. Therefore, I prepared a custom graph material in the Lens Studio.

Process

We partnered with Michael Kors for their brand new watch collection campaign. My task was to model the wathces from scratch and prepare the material as realistically as possible in Blender & Lens Studio. Also, I prepared a dissolve animation on the wrist.

Firstly, we started to model the watches in Blender by using mostly mirror and bevel modifiers. We also had to model them in a very optimize way in order to fit the 8mb lens limitation. Afterwards, we created a material set up in a way that allows people to change the color constantly.

Process

Snapchat partnered with us to support New York City's Chinatown stores affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. We chose one of the bubble tea stores and scanned it with polycam. Then, We created AR scene to allow people to interact with the store using Snapchat’s Custom Landmark Technology. It was one of my first projects where I was responsible for the 3D AR scene and animation as 3D generalist.

As I got the 3D scan from our team in NYC, I started to optimize the mesh with decimate modifier and prepare the animatıon in Blender. I used a linear animatıon as there was only one action in the experience. Beforehand, I had already made the assets ready such as the claw and the bubble tea in Adobe Substance Painter. Afterwards, we exported entire experience to the Lens Studio.

Dominos and Stranger Things initiative us to create an AR project through Snapchat for the new season of the series and their partnership. It was one of the most prestigious lens projects that I ever worked on at Qreal - Glimpse Group. It lasted almost 2 months and involved a lot of 3D works and developments.

Process

We modelled all the 3D items in Blender. As most of them were going to be wearable in AR, we used head and body mesh to make the sizes corect. Then imported them onto Lens Studio for animations and material adjustments. We created prefabs for the relevant 3D objects to avoid clutter in the file. This allowed us for easy modifications of all the items on the scripting side.
